Meet Dr. Samantha Elliott:

Dr. Samantha Elliott

Dr. Samantha L. Elliott is an Associate Professor of Biology at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, a public liberal arts college and the designated honor’s college for the state of Maryland. Elliott studies the immune response of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans to bacterial, fungal or viral pathogens. In addition to laboratory research, her discipline-based education research focuses on curricular design and interventions to help underrepresented groups succeed in STEM disciplines. Elliott is an alumnus of ASM's Biology Scholars Program (2008-09 Research Residency) and the Project Kaleidoscope Summer Leadership Institute. She is a published author of JMBE and an active presenter at education conferences.  In her free time, she enjoys travel, geocaching, and spending quality time with friends and family.
