Abstract:

In 1983, Marshall and Warren proposed the possible association of with peptic ulcer disease and gastric cancer ( ). In February 1994, the NIH Consensus Development Conference concluded that infection is the major cause of peptic ulcer disease and that all patients with documented peptic ulcer disease associated with infection should receive antimicrobial therapy ( ).
