Abstract:

A standard number of bacteria is inoculated onto Mueller-Hinton agar (MHA) containing 6 µg of oxacillin per ml and 4% NaCl. Following overnight incubation, the appearance of growth indicates that the isolate is resistant to oxacillin and other penicillinase-stable penicillins (methicillin, nafcillin, cloxacillin, and dicloxacillin) ( ).
