Abstract:

Free movement of safe and wholesome food is an essential aspect of the internal market within the European Union. This contributes significantly to the health and well-being of citizens and to their social and economic interests. A high level of protection of human life and health should be assured in the pursuit of community policies while allowing for flexibility when appropriate ( ). These lines describe the overall policy in the European Union. The policy is practiced through different parts of the European Union regulatory framework, which is described below.
