Abstract:

The containment philosophy is the idea of keeping something harmful under control or within limits. I propose that “something harmful” includes the infectious disease agent (in patients or vials), the people working with the agents, and the culture of the organization where the agents are being worked with. Instead of covering every possible issue surrounding containment, I will highlight some of the critical actions that keep what is harmful within the agents, people, and organizations under control.
